Dominant performance

Chelsea asserted their dominance early in the match. Nicolas Jackson opened the scoring with his eighth Premier League goal of the season (1-0, 7th minute). Enzo Fernandez doubled the lead in the 36th minute, and Cole Palmer sealed the victory with a third goal in the 83rd minute.

Injuries and mistakes plague Aston Villa

The only downside for Chelsea was the injury to Wesley Fofana, who limped off the field around the hour mark. Aston Villa, on the other hand, struggled defensively. Emiliano Martinez had a particularly tough game, conceding a free kick inside his own box for handling a back-pass and nearly gifting a goal to Nicolas Jackson with a poor clearance. Martinez, suffering from back and hand injuries, was substituted at halftime.

Aston Villa’s struggles continue

Aston Villa, managed by Unai Emery, have now gone eight matches without a win (three draws, five losses), a streak that has seen them slip to 12th place in the standings. They are now level on points with Newcastle, Fulham, and Manchester United. With this victory, Chelsea sends a strong message to their rivals and continues to thrive under Enzo Maresca’s leadership. The Blues aim to maintain this momentum as they push for European qualification.
