Arsenal’s explosive start

From the very beginning, Arsenal set the tone. Martin Ødegaard capitalized on a poor clearance by Manuel Akanji, as Kai Havertz selflessly set him up to score into an empty net (1-0, 2nd minute). This mistake highlighted the ongoing confidence crisis at Manchester City. Moments later, Gabriel Martinelli’s goal was ruled offside (6th minute). City responded with a header from Josko Gvardiol, heroically saved by David Raya (24th minute), while Kai Havertz missed a sitter just before halftime (27th minute).

Citizen’s collapse

In the second half, Manchester City equalized with Erling Haaland’s goal, assisted by Savinho. However, Thomas Partey restored Arsenal’s lead shortly after. Arsenal scored two more goals, with Myles Lewis-Skelly and Kai Havertz finding the net.

Arsenal completes their triumph

Ethan Nwaneri finished the match with a powerful strike. Manchester City’s defensive errors contributed to their defeat, marking a difficult season under Pep Guardiola. With this victory, Arsenal closed the gap to 6 points behind Liverpool, showing they are contenders in the title race. Manchester City faces a challenging end to the season.
